Day 12: Booneville to the coast

Hanging out in Booneville in the morning. Lunch at a delicious local foods deli.

The art gallery next door was amazing and I had fun talking with the owner about art and what sells. He is a sculptor and had really neat nose sculptures. Noses of famous people. I bought a watercolor print done by a local artist.

The owner recommended Navarro as a place to stop an taste wine, so that is where we went.

Anderson Valley is known for its Pinot noir, and what we tasted was good.

Then we packed up and dive back to highway 1 on the coast. Just south of Mendecino we stopped another state park, Van Damme.
Tonight we camp on the beach. The waves are soothing in the rhythmic sounds they make on the pebbles. It is foggy and grey and cold. What a nice change from the hot dry oak savannah hills.
