What a great town! Delicious food, coffee, fun shops, bookstore with free books! And sunny all day. I like Port Townsend.

Day 32: Coupeville-Port Townsend Ferry
Drove down from the mountains to the west. We left the hot dry high altitudes for the humid sea again.
Day 30: Mazama
After our big climb yesterday, Mindy and Ed arrived at our camp after dinner. Then Ron came from Seattle, too. They went climbing in the Liberty group today while we are having a rest day.
We read by the river and then hung out at the Mazama store. It was great to have Juniper back, too. Thanks to Mindy and Ed for watching her while we climbed in Leavenworth and on the Liberty Bell.
Day 28: Leavenworth
Climbing at castle rock in the morning. Got down before the sun blasted us off the rock.
Two gentlemanly kayakers ferried us across the river to the sandy beach on the other side.
Swimming and lounging on the beach under the driftwood fort.
Coffee in Levenworth.
Cherry and peach milkshakes on the drive.
Pizza dinner in Mazama at the Mazama Store with Matt and Liz Walker.
Day 27: Icicle River
Today we...
- drove from Seattle up in to the North Cascades
- ate a berry tart from the traditional stop at the bakery along Hwy 2
- played the ukelele along the Snohomish River
- camped in FS land right off of Icicle River outside of Leavenworth
- practiced yoga along the rocks of the river
- picked wild thimble berries and blueberries from the river banks
