Here are some notes from out first day of the summer road trip:
We packed too much stuff. But we will figure out our system after a few more days if camping.
We almost melted in Las Vegas. Record heat!
We stumbled upon a secret camping spot outside of Vegas that got us up to almost 6000' and up out of the heat.

Woke up to a cool morning breeze and gorgeous limestone cliffs. Did a little geology research ( the limestone cliffs are older than the Aztec sandstone or Red Rocks even though they are in top)
Coffee and breakfast at Holly's Cuppa in Vegas.
Long and hot drive to Ridgecrest to hang out with Aunt Ann and Uncle Bill inside until it cools off a bit.
Headed to Kernville to get up in the mountains!
